REV THEATRE COMPANY
Based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
we as a non profit theatre company are focused on creating an inclusive space for all theatregoers since 2000.
REV : REVOLUTION
REV interprets and transforms the material we work with, changing and intensifying it through exploratory and developmental workshops. Our creative process for classical and new works help construct a world of justified juxtaposition to space, theme, and context. In our often audience-immersive pieces: classical text is interjected by other prolific writings including text from other plays and dramaturgical material. We create original music and perform known songs from varied time periods. Using incredibly physical and choreographed staging paired with soft, subtle stillness draws the audience in. Highly stylized production numbers in contrast to stark and stripped down design, everyday objects and materials used make surprising design elements and keep audiences invested. Our performances occur not only in proscenium theaters but in city parks and public spaces. We create site-specific performances in traditional and non-traditional venues in our area. (PA, NJ, NY, CT, MD, DE, DC, and other neighboring states).

REV’s education and outreach programs are an essential part of our mission. Our goal is to make live theatre accessible to everyone. By appealing to a widely diverse audience and developing and creating cultural activities to enrich the lives of young people and their families, many whom are underserved in the arts. We bring, free of charge, professional productions geared to family audiences accompanied with children and teen workshops. REV Theatre Company productions challenge, provoke, energize, and above all, entertain our audiences through the accessible, vivid, and passionate creations.
We would like to thank the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts for allowing us to create freely.
